Re: [IP] Venting about new endo

Oh, Maureen, we're so sorry that you're having such a difficult time with
endos now. When the "professionals" suggestions don't seem to work, you often
need to listen to what you feel is right for you. You're the one with
diabetes, and know your body best.
Keep meticulous records, maybe even do a graph to show what happens when you
follow "their" basal rates suggestions. Though Hubby's never had the problem
you describe with more insulin producing higher glucose readings, it's a known
fact that with diabetic kitties, a condition labeled "rebound" exists. FYI,
with this, the more insulin you give a cat once you've passed the "optimal
dose", the higher the readings become because its body is fighting going low
and just keeps throwing glucose into the blood. For a cat, the solution is to
halve the insulin amount, wait a day or two, do a curve (yes, you can home
test a cat's glucose levels) and go from there. It's often a week or more
before some stability shows. Yeesh, the things that have had to be learned
with a human and a feline in the house who both have diabetes (LOL)!
Guess you're gonna be doing some basal testing, huh?
Take care, and hope things settle down for you.

I just need to vent to "someone" who understands.
