hi julia
when you get the pump you will also get a plastic
case. 
we just clip them on to there pajamas bottoms and they
sleep like that. there has never been a problem
the only reason i do not suggest putting it under the
pillow is because there has been a couple of cases
where it got wrapped around the child's neck. no death
but it could have been.
