Yeah, I remember him -- Ernest (no "o") and his last name was
 i Castellet, I think. 

He's a very dedicated mountain climber, and wrote very interesting
journals about dealing with Type 1 on a mountain climb. 

Unfortunately, the Everest climb didn't succeed, and a couple of people
lost their lives. He did write once or twice to the list since then, but
I haven't seen him for a while.
