[IP] Static alarms and other pump problems

Have any of you ever wondered why the pump companies offer leather cases for
their pumps? I can think of several:

1. Reduces the probability of a static electricity charge.
a. May eliminate losing basal rates when not recorded.
2. Protects the pump.
a. Keeps the door closed.
b. Prevents the screen from getting damaged.
3. Protects the tubing.
a. When placed under the case flap it is less likely to get caught on
doorknobs, etc.

I've used a MM 507C in their leather case since May 1999 and have never had
a static electricity problem, have never had the door come open, have never
had the reservoir come out of the pump, and have never had the tubing get
caught on anything.

Maybe some of your problems could be eliminated or minimized with the
leather case.
