Trish,

You can use the sofserter to insert the Minimed softsets which can be used
with any current brand of pump (Disentronic, Animas, or Minimed).  I just
recently traded in my 4 year old MM506 for a new Animas. They are both good
products.  The deciding factor for me was the Animas is waterproof and the
Minimed isn't.  The Disentronic is waterproof also.  If that isn't a factor,
it will just be a matter of trying each one and seeing which one you are
most comfortable with.
