[IP] Re:

Tom - I'm surprised your endo hasn't encouraged you to put your daughter on
the pump. especially with taking 3 shots per day. The pump will provide
her with so much more control. And the up side for you, if you wait until
she's a teenage, she may resist and you'll have even bigger problems. Do a
little research on your own and think about getting a 2nd opinion. Also,
you may want to call the pump companies and discuss your concerns w/your doc
with them. I was diagnosed at the age of 4 and would have loved for
something like this to have been out back then. I've only been on the pump
since 7/99, and it has worked wonders. My hbA1c's are down, my control has
never been better, and I even feel 100% better. Also, even thought I'm a
lot older than your daughter, I'm very active and love the outdoors (sports,
swimming, working out) and I've never had a problem with my needle - and I'm
rough on myself. Hope things work out.
