Au contraire, if you're very active, you use LESS insulin than if you're
a couch potato, because activity stimulates the glucose transporters in
the cells, and you lots more bang per unit of insulin! 

That's the reason that Type 2's are encouraged to exercise. 

As I mentioned in a previous post, it's entirely possible that this
person has both Type 1 AND Type 2 -- which would account for the insulin
dependence as well as the high amount of insulin necessary.

YMMV, as I would be the first to proclaim!
