[IP] DiabetesWell Online Treatment Program

Has anyone signed up for Dr. Joe Prendergast's
DiabetesWell online treatment program? I am
considering it. My goal is to add a little bit more
support to my current health care situation.

DiabetesWell, a division of Advanced Care
Technologies, announces nationwide rollout of the
first Internet treatment and management program for
people with diabetes Atherton, CA (September 27) -
DiabetesWell, a division of Advanced Care Technologies
Inc., today announced the first Internet treatment and
management program for diabetes is now available
nationwide. Healthcare will be entering the new
millennium with the most significant event in diabetes
treatment and management since the discovery of
insulin in 1921. For the first time in history, people
with diabetes and Internet access will be able to
receive on demand, expert care regardless of their
geographic location. This eHealth management program
combines the breakthrough treatment methods developed
at the renowned Endocrine Metabolic Medical Center in
Atherton, CA, with the latest Internet and mobile
monitoring technology.

Unlike any other program available today, the
DiabetesWell system is designed specifically for the
patient, with frequent communications taking
place between the patients and the diabetes
specialists on an on-line interactive basis. The
DiabetesWell team of eHealth specialists also
maintains a communication link to the patient's
Primary Care Physician. "This unique infrastructure
bridges the patient service gap between office visits.
Our acute focus on the patients' diabetes and
potential costly complications enables
Primary Care Physicians to concentrate on the demands
of other patients while collaborating with us on their
diabetic patients," said Dr. Joseph Prendergast, a
diabetes pioneer and the California Chairman of the
American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists,
"the physicians we work with recognize the many
benefits of our approach."

The program was developed by Dr. Prendergast and is
based on the findings of the National Institute of
Health's landmark DCCT study and is the result of
3 additional years of online patient care. It is
available to anyone living in the U.S. and includes an
individualized treatment plan, a personal website for
the patient's case history, and continuous Internet
communications with the patient's eHealthcare team.
The service is available for no charge during the
first 90 days and includes a free LifeScan glucose
meter, a starter kit of supplies, and monitoring

"Patients are able to download their glucose data via
the Internet and then interact directly with our
eHealth medical staff. We are able to monitor and
modify treatments as needed. We've found tremendous
acceptance of our program; patients really enjoy
living well and our clinical outcomes validate our
eHealth approach," stated Dr. Prendergast. Diabetes is
one of the nation's greatest health problems and one
of the leading causes of death. 16 million people in
the U.S. are afflicted and equally alarming, more than
don't know they have the disease. The complications of
diabetes are debilitating and include heart disease,
kidney failure, blindness, amputations, and reduced
life expectancy. The American Diabetes Association
estimates that 11% of Americans over 40 years of age
and 18% of those over 65 have diabetes. It is an
extremely expensive disease, costing the U.S. economy
over $120 billion per year, second only to heart
disease and more costly than cancer.

The Company's investors include Johnson & Johnson and
Regis McKenna, a well-known Silicon Valley author and
marketing expert. DiabetesWell can be found at:
