Ruth,

The biggest benefit I got in leveling out my sugars came from the Humalog 
only in the pump. ONce I was off NPH, it was home-free for me for good 
morning sugars. That NPH kick is a nasty thing.

There's a new insulin almost ready for market called Glargine, which will 
run 12 hours with no peak; just a basal rate!

we found NPH to REALLY cause some swings.

once on the lentes...she evened out quite a bit.
