Consider any BG below 60 a potential hypoglycemia.  This is why the dietitians
recommend 3 meals and 3 snacks for the pregnant diabetic woman. Sustained high
Bg's are most problematic as they will damage the fetus. Sustained low BG
deprives the child of nutrition and can contribute to low birth weight and
prematurity for the baby.  Starvation  ketosis is just as bad for the baby as
ketosis from high BG.  Is there a OB person involved with the pregnancy?
