When you are comfortable because what your trainer and/or endo taught you 
works, try adjustments of only 0.1u at a time when needed. Also, only change 
one thing at a time i.e. basal, bolus of carb-insulin ratio, food amount, 
adding or subtracting something, etc. This way you know which one worked.

I would not recommend tweaking by yourself right away. Settle in first --  
and learn. Then go for it. ;-)
