[IP] Atkin's diet and calcium

>From JAMA

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The authors concluded there
is not enough evidence to recommend for or against low carbohydrate
diets. A few studies published since this article was written have
shown that low carbohydrate diets can be safe and effective for weight
loss, but there are still serious concerns about long-term safety of
these diets. They tend to be low in calcium and greatly increase
urinary excretion of this mineral. Diets that incorporate all food
groups are associated with better health and longer life. It will
take a long time to know if low carbohydrate diets can match that.
