[IP] Sil Questions

when I first began to use the Silhouette Infusion Sets I tried the Sil Serter;
I call it the mutilating machine.
I could not disengage the Serter either. By the time I finally got the Serter
separated from the infusion set hub I was ready for a nursing home. After
several tries I decided it was a lot easier to manually insert. With the Quick
Set the inserter made for that was great.
I have the Sil Serter on a shelf waiting to find a museum of torture items to
send it to.
I have been on insulin for 54 years and using the Sil Serter was by far the
worst experience I have had.
I hope others had better luck than I did.

Subject: [IP] Sil Questions

Hi All,

Last month when I upgraded to the Paradigm pump, I switched from Quicksets
Sils. I purchased the silserter, as I am a big chicken and could never do a
manual insert! Here's the question/problem. Originally I was inserting too
and have since made an adjustment to a more shallow insertion, but almost
time I insert the sil using the serter, I have a heck of a time removing the
serter! It seems to be sticking under the set, and I am getting really
frustrated! Saturday I was ready to pull the whole set out, but when I gave it
good tug to do so, the serter finally came loose. I don't know if I am doing
something wrong, or what. I read that most people don't like the sil serter,
hope someone out there has a few words of advice. You are my last hope before
call Minimed and trade all these sils in for Quicksets!
