I'm sure others will answer your more specific questions, but you 
should bear in mind that a pregnancy of a person with diabetes is by 
definition a "high risk" pregnancy which should be closely supervised 
by a good medical team including if possible, an endo, an ob and a 
neo-natatal specialist. The objective is to have both a healthy mom 
and baby.
