And what is glargine?  What does it do?

dx 9/76, pumping since 1/01

Glargine is a long actng peakless insulin that was supposed to mimic 
pumping. Once injected it essentially has a flat release curve. it is not 
adjustable but other insulins, such as humulog can be used for bolus doses. 
I think it was developed primarily for type 2 diabetics.
