Subject: [IP] Basal Rates

The goal of the basal insulin in the pump is to keep your blood sugars
level-to-slightly dropping without eating. For hours. So, try some of the
basal rate testing (you can find the instructions for this in the how-to
section of the home page of IP), and if you're having to eat because your
blood sugars are dropping, then you may need to lower your basal rates. Our
initial advice was to think in 3 hour blocks of time, and get each 3 hour
block stable, rather than thinking about a whole day at a time.
