It is often more reliable to measure cooked pasta by volume rather than 
weight. Even if it is cooked longer and contains more water, the volume 
remains relatively constant. A pound of pasta by weight dry produces 
about 7 cups of cooked pasta, doesn't seem to matter what kind or if it 
is aldente or gooey.
