B I had them in my first job (retired ballet dancer here). I found that
sitting with my feet flat on the floor, raising the toes up and down for 20x
and then repreating on the other foot several times a day really helped.

The term "shin splints" refers to pain along the shinbone (tibia) -- the
large bone in the front of your lower leg. Shin splints are common in
runners, dancers and military recruits.( also in people who don't excercise
much)
