RE: [IP] Hypoglycemic Unawareness - need help

Can you reduce your insulin? I don't know if that works for type 1's like
it does type 2's. I've been on a weight reduction program and I'm down 29
pounds as well as eating very low glycemic foods. My insulin use has gone
from 200 units every 2 to 2 1/2 days to about 35 per day. Monday morning I
need to send my pump output into the doctors because I suspect that the
basals need set down again. I haven't been over 70 in the last 3 days.
They were just reduced again last Monday. I'm testing around 10 times a
day; fortunately my insurance does not limit test strips.

None of this may apply to you Dianne but I hope you find a solution soon.

Subject: [IP] Hypoglycemic Unawareness - need help

I've had a hypoglycemia unawareness for a few years now, but it's a lot
worse than it used to be. I was willing to give the CGMS a shot but Medicare
doesn't cover it and my Medicare Advantage plan has limited me to 6 test
strips per day.
