Because the static electricity caused it to fail once, I would think it
could cause it to do the same again.  Personally, I would use the new one.
I would not want to take a chance on finding myself in a position where I
did not have a pump that worked.  I always keep insulin injections someone
near by, just in case, but hope I never have to resort to them.  So to sum
it up: I'd use the new one.
