Kristy,

  When applying the Mastisol, leave the center area free of Mastisol so you
won't have this kind of problem.  Then fan the site a second to allow the
Mastisol to start to set up and get tacky.  Then do the site insertion.
Should't run into problems with the Mastisol getting into the tubing if done
this way.
