We LOVE Life Scan's One Touch Ultra.
Very small amount of blood, take 5 seconds, you don't even have to take the
meter out of the case to use.  It tolerates
heat and cold very well.

We have used the Freestyle and started with the Acucheck and can understand
your frustrations.
