Re: [IP] birth control-anti depressant?-stomach probs

I have taken Loestrin for birth control for 4 years, and have never had any
side effects. I used to have extremely bad cramps and bad PMS and a very
heavy flow w/ my period. Now I have a light 1-day period and no cramping
and only slight emotional/hormonal PMS symptoms which only my boyfriend
seems to notice. :) I have also suffered from depression and anxiety
disorder for at least 3 years. For about a year I have been taking effexor
after trying many other MAO's that gave horrible side effects. effexor
doesn't cause any problems, but to be honest I think therapy and changing
jobs(less stress) and getting my sugars under better control (thanks to the
pump) is what worked for me. now my good day:bad day ratio is much better.
my ob/gyn prescribed loestrine -she said- because it is the lowest effective
dose of hormones and she said that's what I needed considering the dm and
mental health issues. that's a bit more than 2 cents and may not really be
what you're looking for, but I hope it's helped somehow. good luck with
everything!
Julie
