diabetes, is awarding $500 scholarships to send 20 children to diabetes
summer camp. Diabetes camp is a great place for children to develop
independence while learning more about managing diabetes. Its also a place
for kids to meet other kids with diabetes and just have fun.

20 Grand Prize Winners selected at random will receive:

7	$500 cash (US) toward the diabetes camp and program of the parents
choice;
7	ONE TOUCH Ultra Blood Glucose Meter;
7	Disposable camera to save those great moments while at camp.

Bonus Prize

7	One Grand Prize Winner will also receive a visit from Gary Hall Jr. at
diabetes camp, subject to Gary Halls availability.

5000 First Prize Winners selected at random will receive a ONE TOUCH. Ultra
Blood Glucose System. The system is great for kids with diabetes because it
offers less painful testing on the arm, where there are fewer nerve endings
than in the fingertips, accurate test results in just 5-seconds, and a broad
operating temperature range of 43: to 111: F.

be received by May 15, 2001. Parents must enter on behalf of their
children. Children must have diabetes; be under 18 years of age on
September 30, 2001; and be a U.S. resident. Scholarship winners agree to
share their camp experiences in words and pictures with LifeScan for
promotional purposes. For official rules, visit www.LifeScan.com. For a
list of diabetes camps in the U.S., visit www.childrenwithdiabetes.com.

*	Champion swimmer Gary Hall Jr. is an inspiration to everyone with
diabetes. He combined drive, determination and self-confidence to win two
gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the 2000 Summer games. Hes
living proof that diabetes need not prevent people from living their dreams.

Please help us spread the word about this experience of a lifetime for
children with diabetes.

Dr. Joe, the Diabetes Doctor
