Re: [IP] limitations on 511

Make sure if you are interested in the 511 that you do your homework.  I was
very excited about it until I started looking.  There are some serious
limitations with it.  There is a specific infusion set that you MUST use
with it--no variability--and you can only get it from MM.  Plus the
prefilled cartridges only hold 150 units and it sounds to me like the
cartridge and set HAVE to be changed together.  That would mean much more
frequent changes for many pumpers.  It is quite a bit smaller and has some
great features--including being completely waterproof.  But it also appears
to have some serious limitations.  Check out the Diabetes Mall article on
it.  I don't have the site right off hand but it was referenced in a note
earlier today.

I am thinking that we all need to e-mail MM and protest these seemily
unnecessary limitations!  I don'tmind a smaller cartridge but why can't they
be interchangeable with the sets?  And why a specific set?  It sounds like a
money making idea to me and that really stinks!  MM might just lose a
faithful customer with this one.
