Charisma, what do you mean by "kick off"?  Do you mean trigger it, or
prevent it?

As far as I'm concerned, no one in their right mind would try to trigger
it -- especially when, in people disposed to Type 2, it can be prevented
or at least delayed by proper eating and exercise.

I hope your friend is OK.
