[IP] RE: Air Conditioning for college son

Hi, I live in an apt. complex where they do not allow air conditioners in
the living rooms (esthetics) and I am extremely affected by the heat. My
blood sugar drops dramatically when I'm overheated. Kind of like sun stroke.
It makes sense that our body has to work hard to regulate temperature and
it's impossible to adjust your basal rate to accommodate this. I got a
medical note from my doctor and they allowed me to put in a window type air
conditioner in my living area. Maybe the college can accommodate you by
installing an a/c in his dorm room? It takes away the need for "special
housing." It's just an idea that may open up other avenues for you. You
could always pursue a lawsuit for discrimination under the American
Disabilities Act ~ even a letter from an attorney could change their
attitude. Good luck to you, Candice
