It sounds to me as if you have to try alot of different things.
Eating 100 or other carbs and smaller portions is always an option, YMMV.
Either changing  basals, or insulin carb ratios, but not both at same time.
Perhaps different i/c ratios for different foods.
Multi-wave boluses for different foods.  (esp. combinations of.).
Different i/c ratios for expected activities.
Or, if you use the same i/c ratios, using a temporary basal during 
activity keeping glucose tablets handy.
Sometimes a simple change works, sometimes not.   link (on digest)   YMMV
