RE: [IP] Email from Paramedic

Going to the hospital after a severe low is overkill. Once our sugar is
back up to normal, we need to monitor it, but that is easily done at home.

The last time I was transported, the doctor didn't know the difference in
treatment between a type 1 and type 2, was insisting I stay the night (I
did), then didn't want to let me leave until after I had completed 3 days of
training. I left against medical orders - this guy wasn't my doctor, refused
to call my doctor, etc.

Other times, I woke up in the hospital and they monitored for a few hours
then let me leave. Since I arrived unconscious, that is reasonable. But if
I regain consciousness prior to transport, there is no need to go to the
hospital.
