Re: [IP] Symlin

do you like the symlin? - has it helped to reduce your weight? These are
claims that I have heard about the symlin.

So far, I like it but like any other new therapy it will take a while to
fine tune it. Such things as how much to reduce my pre-meal bolus, how long
to wait before my second bolus, etc. Once I feel things out I am sure I
will get better results. As things are now, my 30 min, 1 hr., 90 min., and
2 hr. post meal bg is either flat or drops slightly. Then, as I approach
2.5 - 3 hrs. post meal, my bg rises, which requires a second bolus. Symlin
easily eliminates a post-meal spike.
I have only been using Symlin since May 30. I have not used it every meal
or even every day since many times my meals do not contain enough carbs (30
or more grams) to justify Symlin and not go low. I do not think using it
for that short period of time would result in weight loss. I might be wrong
but I think the trials showed a modest weight loss of about 3 - 6 percent in
some of the users. Perhaps someone could give better information on this.
