In Michigan, we have the Lions club that takes used glasses and gives them
away to people that cannot afford them - somehow they are all recycled.
Maybe ask some of the service organizations (Red Cross, etc. in your area.)
The state welfare agencies may also be a good place to check but it seems
they don't want to be bothered by those kind of things. When my
mother-in-law passed away, we gave some things away to the senior citizens
center because FIA (Michigan welfare agency) was looking at us selling them
as income - but need I digress!
It is certainly a kind thought to give something away like that which can
