Hi Sarah,
I'm not really qualified to comment on how the case of strep throat could be
affecting you now, but definitely don't trust those store bp machines. Even
the ones you actually buy from good manufacturers in the store can vary
widely. The best way to check them, per my Drs advice, is to bring them to
their office and check them with their bp monitor. Your dr may not be
concerned about the bp, b/c some of them think 130/75, 140/90 is borderline
and won't push it right away(I just went on monpril after a few visits with
140/90). If I were you though, I'd see if I couldn't either make an appt
specifically for this and talk to them pointedly about it, or find another
Dr who will listen to your needs.
