[IP] did anyone start on???

I was 30 when I was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. My doctor wasn't sure
about the Type I designation either so he started me on diet, exercise, and
pills. I was totally ignorant of diabetes at the time and pills sounded OK.
I was already taking pills for other health issues. I followed the diet
and exercise program religiously because I desperately wanted to get rid of
the symptoms I was having. None of this worked one bit and he put me on
insulin after one week. A couple of years later when some of the newer
insulin enhancing drugs became available, my endo thought he'd try me on
pills again. He didn't feel I was using enough insulin to be considered
Type I. Well, that didn't work either. Noone has questioned my designation
again and I switch doctors and endos often. Trust me, I'd give anything to
pop a pill along with the diet and exercise that I already follow instead of
taking shots or pumping.

Subject: [IP] did anyone start on???

hello
my mother is going for blood work tomorrow to see if she has diabetes - she
had the first test lst week but tomorrow is the fasting one.
anyways- I was wondering if thee were many people out here who started on
the
pills first then went to the shots?
My doctor wanted me to do this when i was first diagnosed but figured since
i
would need shots to not start on pills but just go to the shot right away.
just curious
thanks
