You might want to try what worked for us (at least once!!) with the pizza
pig-out. Ben, also 13, ate five LARGE slices of pepperoni pizza. He bolused
10 units at the end of dinner (assuming about 20 carbs per slice) and then
beginning two hours later we set a temporary rate of twice his usal evening
rate, making that effective for five hours. Numbers were perfect all night
and in the am. Now, he had also had exercise during that day, which probably
helped too. This seems to be easier for us than doing the square wave bolus
thing. I need to get some more information on what to do with that...
