[IP] "Black Sunday"

I've been on the pump for about 3 weeks and Sunday made my 3rd change of site
all alone at about 11:30 a.m. My BG at 12:30 p.m. was 5.6 mmol (U.S.
multiply X 18). I took 1 less unit of Humalog before lunch as I had a lawn
bowling game starting at 2:00 p.m. lasting until 5:00 p.m. with supper at
about 5:30 p.m., I tested my BG early at 1:30 p.m. and it was 12.4). I was
concerned but thought well I usually test at 90 mins. so the Humalog is still
working. At 1/2 time in the game at 3:30 p.m the BG was 22.0, I bolused 5.0
units and went back to the game. The game ended at 5:15 p.m. and I tested
17.8. I took another 5.0 units, and ate a salad for supper....5
carbohydrates at the most. When I got home at 7:00 p.m. I tested BG at 10.6,
ketones at moderate, took another unit of insulin. At 9:00 p.m. the BG was
7.5, the ketones negative and all has been normal since..........WHAT
happened, all guesses, comments would be greatly appreciated. I had no
trouble in my first 2 changes with my Heath Care Specialist or my previous 2
changes on my own. I carefully watch the insulin going down my tube until it
comes out through the inserter needle, my site does not look or feel any
different than the other times. If the insulin is too cold what happens? It
was really hot lawn bowling (almost 90 degrees). I'm grasping at straws!
