[IP] [Fwd: Re: Good News]

Wanted to forward this on to those who like to keep up with developments
in diabetes treatments. Keep in mind I have no idea as to the
credibility/reliability of the content.

Hey Loopies!!!

I'm sure you all heard the good news out yesterday (by the ADA) about the
insulin inhaler. Used like an asthma inhaler, the kids would just puff away
before meals with only one shot in the pm to last overnight! It just
completed phase 2 testing now with 120+ tested. They comparred patients with
shots to those using the new inhaler. Both methods appeared equally
effective!! The FDA projects approval within 3-5 years. Going into phase 3
testing of 1,000+ patients. Works for both type 1 and 2. It was discussed
this morning on Good Morning America. Their doc (Tim Johnson) said he thought
there would be alot of pressure on the FDA to speed up approval. He said he
wouldn't be surprised to see in 1-2 years.

I cried when I saw this!!! Maybe at least some releif for our kids. Probably
more about this on ADA web site or abc online but I don't know squat about
links etc. so I can't help you there! (LOL)
