My basal has always been a trial & error project.  We never did any real
study; just winged it.  I've often wondered if I should do a study on it.
It looks like I should.

 My basal rate at 12:00am is 0.9 until 4:00am it changes to 1.2. until
8:00am when it goes to 0.6 for most of the day. I finally figured this out
after going to bed around 100 and waking up at 7:00 or 8:00 near 200 or
more.
