Many insurance companies will cover a new pump once the 4 year warranty is up
even if the pump is still working. It all depends on the company/plan you have.
My old insurance actually covered a new pump when my old was was still under
warranty - it had 10 months left to go.

I have seen wording in some insurance plans that said they would cover just 1
pump per member lifetime. That just doesn't make sense. Would they rather the
person end up back on injections with bad control? I know that's what would
happen to me. Instead of covering pump supplies they would be covering several
ER visits each year.
