RE: [IP] Re: insulin-pumpers-digest V11 #868
Wow maybe some of all but in MHO putting 2 dogs on one bun is cutting your
carbs in half! If you eat your dog from a fork, and I have done that lots,
the mustard, onion and relish all fall off. With two dogs on one bun you
still have something to hold the mustard, onion and relish and get full
without eating 2 buns of carbs.

Possibility 1.
The buns seldom get ruined at the backyard bbq. But the dog got at least
one of
the hot dogs, another got dropped in the coals or on the ground. A third,
well,
that person can tolerate wheat so at it straight from the fork. And the
last
extra was for the glutton who just somehow managed to stuff two dogs on one
bun...
More likely possibility:
the manufacturers of the buns know you'll be buying the right quantity of
dogs
first. And then the buns to match. By using an undercount of buns, they
force
you to buy more than you need. It's all about the money...
A third.
Perhaps its that butchers and bakers each have their own unique way of
counting.
I mean, you all know about the bakers dozen, right? Butchers don't do that.
Thirteen is thirteen, and you gotta pay for all of em. Bakers? Well,
they're
willing to give you an extra for good measure. But only when it doesn't
matter.
So then they have to make it up by taking away from something elsewhere.
And
with the hot dog buns, they can get back at those pesky butchers...
And finally, it's in deference to the possible vegitarians at the cookout,
who
might want a bun with just the sourcrout, relish, lettuce, tomato, ketchup
and
mustard (dijon, please), and maybe a bit of tofu, without all that nasty
greasy
cruel meat. So the bakers kindly put in the number so that with two packs
of
buns, even the vegitarians get a few to eat without the dogs.
And lets not forget something to feed the pigeons with...
:-)
