Of all the criteria insurance companies use when approving pumps, I 
think the A1c is the most useless.  If my insurance went by A1c I 
wou;dn't have one today, because mine were all in the 5's.  They were 
"perfect" because of all the lows I had, followed by highs.  One test 
number tells you nothing.  My CDE did send about 2 weeks worth of my 
BG tests somewhere but I don't know if it was to Minimed or my 
Insurance.  Those logs showed the true story - a day of numbers in 
the 30's and 40's with a 270 - 350 thrown in to even it out.

I actually don't think the logs were sent to my insurance, just 
Minimed, to prove that I was already testing regularly and that a 
pump would benefit me.
