Re: [IP] Ladder Diet - beef essence

OK. According to the book, fast days appear to consist of tea, coffee, meat
extract, and as much water as desired.

What I always found most fascinating about the book ("The Pathology and
Treatment of Diabetes Mellitis" by George Graham, written in 1923 and
published by Oxford Medical Publications) is its handling of insulin.
Insulin was not even mentioned until page 108 of a 177-page book.

"It is much too early to be certain about the best way of using insulin, but
it was thought right to give a provisional account at this stage of our
knowledge," says the preface.

In other words, "we don't know a lot about this stuff, but we'll throw it in
toward the back of the book in case it turns out to be important." <g>
