I believe that she is a spokesperson for the ADA or the Juvenile
Diabetes Foundation, something like that. She probably didn't want to
be a poster child for the disease, having to field so many questions
about her health especially at the beginning. It's hard being in the
public eye all the time. I personally get tired of educating people and
assuring people I am just fine - and I am no one in particular, I
couldn't image having to be the focus of the world's scrutiny.
