The main difference between Type 1 & Type 2 is the cause of the Type.
Type 1 is now thought to be an auto--immune disease.  Type 1 has no insulin.
IMO, Type 2 is the loss of the first insulin response, insulin resistance &
slower disappearance of the beta cells from an unknown factor which is
inherited.  A factor that appears to have triggers which bring on the disease.
(showing up among obese youngsters.) Insulin is not used properly in body.
(either a little or alot the body has.)
