[IP] Re: 24 hour urines tests

>>My friends mom is a diabetic, and she had to do a 24
hour urine test. They forgot to do the blood work the day that she took it
but called her the following day, saying to come in to have it drawed. Could
this cause a mistake in the test? She got a call from her doctors office
today, saying they wanted her to see a kidney specialist. >>>

To be sure it is a factual test, it really *should* be done correctly. They
always stressed to me to have the blood drawn as soon as finished with the
collection as possible so the blood can match the urine. IF there is a
problem with the kidneys, I'd think the treatment would depend on the test
results. IF there is no problem with the kidneys, I'd think the
non-treatment would depend on the test results.
