It means another adjustment of getting basals set, and carb/insulin ratios
For tight control, different activities at different times, syringes & fast
acting must be carried at all times, corrections for unexpected highs, A second
shot if you decide on an extra portion, or snack.
With a pump, you can shut it off, lower basal before expected activity, or if
you are going low.
With Lantus in system all the time, you cannot turn it off.  You can push a
button on pump for insulin needs without filling syringe and injecting.
The pump is easy access, less hassle.
