Re: [IP] Re: BG highs few hours after site change

Was wondering...when you change out your site do you leave the old site in
for a few hours before you remove it or are you removing it right away? We
have found that by leaving the old site in it will allow any unused insulin
that has pooled by the canula to be absorbed. If you pull the old site out
and there is pooled basal insulin this insulin will freely flow right out the
hole that the canula leaves in the skin when it is removed. So you will
naturally go high because this is missed basal insulin. Or, you can always
bolus an extra few units if you want to remove the old site right away!

Did I say that right??
