RE: [IP] What is the name of your pump?

My daughter Crystal who was diagnosed with type 1 at age 9 (now 12) has been
on the pump for two years now. Every time someone saw the pump they would
be astonished that she would have a beeper at such a young age. She always
had to explain that it wasn't a beeper. So she now calls it her Beeper. So
whenever we are outdoors and I want her to check I say Crystal can you check
your Beeper, she gets a kick out of seeing peoples faces. Sometimes we also
call it Thingy because little kids would sometimes ask her what's that
thing?

I just refer to my pump as my "pocket pancreas". When asked
(especially by IT people), I just tell 'em that I do insulin
just like they do, except that I "outsourced" my production.
And it works about as well as most IT outsourcing deals :).
