[IP] Stenm cell success

On today's NBC 'Today' show there was a report on an
ALS (Lou Gehrig disease) study that used stem cells
to replace (intentionally) destroyed spine cells in
mice. It worked. Cells that were gone now had new
cells that allowed the mice to 'walk'. The concept
does work and they could be used to replace many
cells in the body, including pancreas cells. It is
unpublished and under peer review now, but does show
that progress is being made.

The researchers indicated that the loss of federal
funding would effectively end their research. IIRC
Jim Handsfield had mentioned this in the past.
