You might also be getting dehydrated in the heat and sun at those times. That will decrease the blood flow to the subcutaneous tissues and the insulin will not be absorbed as well. After you are indoors and cooled off, it's possible that the insulin is able to get more rapidly absorbed, and your blood sugar will start to drop. That may not be the only reason but it couldn't hurt to come in to cool down and drink up every hour or so.
