I don't understand this either.   Insulin doesn't burn up the glucose does
it?  It just makes it available to the cells, and if the cells don't need
it, the glucose just  goes into fat, correct?

oh yes! if only the body were more inefficient. back in the 30's the drug
companies marketed a substance called dinitrophenol which uncoupled metabolism
of glucose and caused weight loss. unfortunately it caused cataractsand death
too. no other magic pills since. spot
